I had an absolutely wonderful time visiting this spot on Madison Road. Everything we tried was fresh, beautifully presented, and tasted just as good as it looked. The attention to detail is impressive, especially with the presentation of the ramen bowl. It was served in a clean, simple white bowl with a perfectly cooked egg and delicate toppings. We also loved the assortment of pastries and the fried chicken served on those lovely, patterned vintage-style plates. It is rare to find a place that hits the mark on both atmosphere and food quality so consistently.

Tried the mochi mochi panic (savory grilled mochi pieces with ground pork + bean sprouts, slightly spicy) and really enjoyed the textures and flavor combination of the dish. I haven’t seen a dish like this offered at many other Japanese restaurants, and was glad I gave something different a try. Also ordered the broccoli gomae appetizer, which had a nice crunch, felt refreshing, and was well-seasoned with a sweet sesame dressing. It wasn’t as memorable as the mochi mochi panic, but made a nice complement to the entree. There was a small line ahead of me around 4:50pm on a Thursday. When they opened at 5pm, they were easily able to seat a few parties of 2-5 people, as well as up to about 6 solo diners at the bar. It was busy but didn’t get too crowded while I was there.

Came here for the Ramen. Was not disappointed. House made noodles, rich brother, subtle and simplistic deliciousness. It’s a a couple thin slices of Chashu, a couple bamboo shoots, delicious slippery noodles and a perfect egg. Staff was awesome! Welcoming despite being busy. They know they are serving an amazing product. Place fills up fast!

Some of the best pastries I have ever had. We tried to go multiple times on our trip but there was always a line out the door! On a Sunday around 11, we only had to wait about 10 minutes to get through the line. The stars were the croissant, BBQ Pork Snow Bao and the Sago. The apricot cardamom scone was also one of my favorites, baked to perfection and had a flavor that was out of this world. The everything bagel pastry was good but expected. The corn and cheese pastry was great as well, we just enjoyed the other options more. You really can’t go wrong with any selections here. I can’t wait to try their dinner options next time I’m in town.
